Returns Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
We want you to get the right gear and parts. This policy explains the minimum return rights available for purchases from Dirtlab (PTY) Ltd in South Africa. It doesn’t take away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
1. How to request a return
Email info@dirtlab.co.za with your order number, the item, the reason for the return and, if relevant, photos of the problem. We’ll reply with return instructions. Please don’t send an item to an address that hasn’t been confirmed for returns.
2. Defective, unsafe or poor quality goods
If goods don’t meet the quality standards in the Consumer Protection Act, you may return them within six months after delivery, without penalty and at our risk and expense. You may choose a repair, replacement or refund of the price paid. If we repair the goods and the problem remains or another defect appears within three months after the repair, the law provides for a replacement or refund.
We’ll assess the reported issue fairly. Ordinary wear, misuse or an alteration contrary to instructions may affect a claim, but merely opening, fitting or testing a product does not automatically cancel your legal rights. Any manufacturer’s warranty is in addition to your statutory rights.
3. Wrong goods or a delivery that doesn’t match the order
If we deliver the wrong item or an item that doesn’t match what was ordered or described, contact us promptly. The Consumer Protection Act may give you a right to return it within 10 business days after delivery, at our risk and expense. We’ll arrange the appropriate remedy under the law.
4. Eligible online order cooling off
For an online transaction covered by section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, you may cancel without giving a reason within seven days after receiving the goods. The only charge we may levy for exercising that right is the direct cost of returning the goods. If you’ve already paid, the law requires a full refund within 30 days after cancellation. Some transactions fall outside this cooling off right under the Act. We’ll explain any applicable exclusion if one affects your request.
Please tell us in writing before the seven day period ends and follow the return instructions we send. Pack the item securely so it reaches us safely. We won’t use this process to restrict a separate right you may have for faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.
5. Other change of mind requests
South African law doesn’t give a general right to return every product simply because you’ve changed your mind. If the statutory cooling off right or another legal return right doesn’t apply, email us and we’ll let you know whether we can offer a voluntary return. We won’t promise a voluntary refund, exchange or store credit until we’ve agreed it with you.
6. Refunds
Where a refund is due, we’ll arrange it using an appropriate payment method after confirming the claim and, where required, receiving the returned item. Statutory refund deadlines and your choice of remedy for qualifying defective goods take priority over any internal process.
